- Casual or athletic clothing (sweatshirts, sweatpants, gym wear)
- Clothing that is heavily worn, outdated, or out of season
- Items with stains, tears, pilling, strong odors, or pet hair
- Used undergarments, bras, hosiery, or opened intimates
- Shoes with heavy wear, visible damage, or toe marks
- Formal or evening wear (gowns, cocktail dresses)
- Men’s or children’s clothing
- Household items or non-clothing donations
If an item would not be appropriate for a current professional workplace or job interview, it is not suitable for this program.
- Clothing that is worn out, damaged, or in poor condition
- Items with stains, strong odors, or pet hair
- Used undergarments, socks, or hosiery
- Sleepwear, lingerie, or swimwear
- Clothing that is not appropriate for a school environment
- Shoes that are heavily worn or damaged
- Men’s clothing or children’s clothing
- Household items or non-clothing donations
if the item is not in a condition that a teen would feel confident wearing to school, we are unable to accept it.
How to Prepare Your Donation
To ensure a smooth and safe process for everyone:
✔ Items must be clean, laundered, and ready to wear
✔ Place donations in sturdy plastic bags or boxes
✔ Remove hangers
✔ Please do not overfill bags, keep them light enough to carry
We take every measure to ensure a safe environment for our donors, volunteers, clients, and staff.
Making Changes Association is pleased to accept donations during the week and on select Saturdays. Your clothing donations make a meaningful difference, supporting our programs that help women, those who identify as women, and teen girls in Calgary look, feel, and move forward with confidence.
Drop-Off Hours
Monday to Thursday: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Select Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
